You will have a better future if you embrace Lifelong Learning. I, Rajeev Lal, believe in and promote Lifelong Learning. I am an author and presently a Director on the Board of the non-profit organization Engineers Without Borders – India.
I am devoted to sharing my learning and experiences. I have written articles and short stories, and published some of these. My narratives rely a lot on events and situations that have occurred in my life. I write in an easy-going style laced with humor, and emotion at times. This is evident in my books “A Star is Born “, “Better Half with Golf” and the third (which I co-authored) “Jeeves Who Spoke to Flowers”.
My corporate life spanned 50 years in Information Technology and Engineering Design Services. For about 3 decades, I successfully helped companies worldwide leverage the power of a global workforce.
I was associated with Infotech Enterprises Ltd (now CYIENT), IEITS Pvt. Ltd., Infotech HAL Ltd., Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, MICO-Bosch, Union Carbide, Uptron & TISCO (Tata Steel) in India and Boodai Computer Services, Kuwait. I co-founded a software services startup in 1987 but moved out of it later. My last professional engagement, with Belcan India, ended in April 2022.
I have been a member of several professional bodies and held positions of responsibility in them. These include Computer Society of India, American Mgmt. Assoc., Intl Assoc of Outsourcing Professionals and The Institution of Engineers (India),
I completed Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Delhi College of Engg, Delhi University, 1969.
I am married, with two children and four grandchildren. I live in India and have travelled widely.
